Travel deals of the week: early deals for summer airfare

Budget travel deals of the weekThis week marked the start of Spring – and the beginning of summer vacation plans!  Fall and summer airfares went on sale this week along with other travel deals for vacations, cars, and more.

While some of those airfare deals end today, there are still plenty of cheap flights for summer that are on sale through next week.  If you need a guide for choosing a flight, use these 10 tips to find the best travel deals on summer airfares.

And if you are ready to book your flight, here’s this week’s travel deals of the week for Fall and summer airfares.

Fall and summer airfare sale

Southwest Airlines – Find airfares as low as $69 each way for travel April 3 – June 27.  A 10 day advanced purchase is required and this sale ends March 29, 11:59 PM PST.  Travel is valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Travel is not available in Florida April 3 – 16 and certain cities are excluded.

Insider travel tip – Many of the same airfares on sale during this summer airfare sale have also been extended into November.  Search the airfare calendar to find the same airfare prices in August, September, and October that are on sale here in May and June.

Virgin America – A summer and Fall airfare sale is going on now for San Francisco for as low as $64 each way.  However, these deals end today.  Fly April 10 through June 13 or August 22 – October 17.  A 14 day advanced purchase is required.

These aren’t the only cities on sale!  You can check out other deals Seattle, Chicago, New York, Washington, Boston, Orlando, and more for these same dates.

AirTran – Like the Southwest Airline deals?  Find the same ones at AirTran for various cities.  Purchase by March 29, travel April 3 – June 27, travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the best deals, and get airfares as low as $69 each way.

Delta Airlines – Delta has a number of airfare sales to Europe, Latin America, and Asia right now.  While they aren’t for summer travel, those wanting to get away for the Spring or find an early summer vacation can get some discounted flights to these destinations.

Europe – Fly from various cities on the east coast to cities like Madrid, Rome, Paris, London, and Athens.  Prices range from $351 to $613 each way.  Airfare sale ends on March 26 and a 14 day advanced purchase and Saturday night stay are required.  Blackout dates also apply.  Travel departure must be from April 2 – May 15 and travel must be completed by June 15.

Latin America – Destinations and departures are limited for this airfare sale.  Fly from Atlanta to Colombia, Bermuda, or the Dominican Republic for $230 – $455 each way.  Travel dates and restrictions vary and sale ends March 26.

Asia – Cities are limited in this one as well.  Fly from Detroit and/or Los Angeles to Seoul, Beijing, Sydney, or Tokyo for from $439 to $779 each way.  Purchase by March 26 and see restrictions and blackout dates for travel.

United Airlines – Where do you want to go?  With current airfares for United Airlines, you can currently go almost anywhere in the world.  Prices, cities, travel dates vary.  However, you can browse destinations and cities for Europe, Hawaii, Latin America, the Caribbean, Florida, California, and New York.

Just check out the current United Airlines airfare deals.

American Airlines – American has a domestic airfare sale similar to Southwest and AirTran.  Fly for as low as $60 each way, purchase by March 29, and travel April 3 – June 27.

Find Europe and Central American airfare sales similar to other airlines as well.  Depart by April 1 for Europe and return before September 26 for as low as $348.  For Central America, depart and return in May with prices as low as $173 each way.

Alaska Airlines – Get airfares as low as $123 each way from cities like Seattle, Portland, Phoenix, Vancouver, Chicago, and more for travel April 15 – 29.  Book by March 26.

Hawaiian Airlines – Book your Spring Break vacation to Hawaii for as low as $340 round trip (San Jose to Maui).  Book now through March 26 and travel April 24 – June 8.  Hawaiian miles login is required to book this trip.

While this Spring is here, these summer airfares won’t last long.  Demand for summer travel is expected to be high this year so take advantage of these early summer airfare sales now.

If you are looking for summer airfares for mid to late summer, expect these deals to roll out over the next couple of months.  For now, take advantage of cheap flights for summer.  And do your homework to make sure you save money on your next vacation.

    • Thanks Nate. I did this at times and will post some stuff on my FB page. However, I don’t have as much time to dedicate to deals sometimes. I may do more of this on Facebook but not as much on the blog. These deals go so fast probably not worth creating a post for these. I can always try to help if you are looking for something specific though.
