Fall is the time of year for college football. This year, I am traveling all over the country (even going as far as Ireland) to see 9 college football games this season. Join me on the road for the Expedia College Football Travel Tour.
Even if you don’t love football, there are LOTS of travel stories including travel guides, places to eat, where to stay, and fun activities and stories on college towns and cities. I’ve met Irish people, found the best places to eat in Annapolis, and was on the field for Cal and Ohio State.
Travel to Europe in the Fall
If you’ve gone on a European vacation in the summer, here are 5 reasons to visit Europe in the Fall. Fewer crowds and cheaper airfares make Europe more affordable. However, here are a few European destinations worth visiting in the Fall.
When traveling to Europe, there are famous cities and popular destinations – Paris, Rome, London. However, to truly experience Europe and create some great travel memories, you can discover 7 off the beaten path places in Europe that tell a story (and 6 out of 7 were visited in the Fall).
While it isn’t Europe and many people may not think about visiting a Hawaiian beach this time of year, Kauai can be a fun Fall travel destination. While the weather is warm and the beaches are beautiful, here are 8 things to do in Kauai when you’re not lying on the beach.
Fall travel in California
One of my favorite places to visit in the Fall – Autumn leaves, Apple Hill, California beaches, weekend getaways, and hiking trails are just a few reasons to make California a Fall travel destination. Make the most of the Fall with weekend getaways in northern California.
While aspens and autumn go together, many people may not think of California as a travel destination for Fall colors. However, places like Hope Valley and Markleeville are just two of many destinations to see the Fall colors in northern California.
If you are inspired by these beautiful Autumn leaves in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Lake Tahoe, you can track the colors and leaves, find out where and when to go, and get tips on taking photos with this Fall leaves guide from The Sacramento Bee.
Hiking in northern California
While summer is the peak season for hiking in California, places like Muir Woods and the Mt Judah Trail offer some views of lakes, mountains, and trees that are make a Fall hiking trip worth the time and effort.
A northern California hiking guide will give you an overview of hiking destinations in the area along with some hiking tips. For some unique insight into hiking in northern California, check out an interview with my hiking boots.
One of my favorite places for Fall and Halloween is Apple Hill. To save time and money during this busy and crowded season, check out this Apple Hill tips and travel guide for Fall and Halloween.
