Where in the world am I? And the winner is…

where in the world am I aug 24For this week’s Where in the world am I? travel photo, it’s a bit of a blast from the past as well as a look ahead. Many people may know where this photo was taken. However, there is more than meets the eye on this one.

This week’s where in the world am I? This week, I look back on one of my favorite travel memories. It’s far away yet close to home. As you can see, people dressed to celebrate this occasion and there was music, food, and more to celebrate. However, the biggest highlight of this place was not what people were wearing but what they were doing. Do you know where I am?

What is “where in the world am I?” all about?

Reading travel blogs and getting travel information is great! I love doing it and learn about some great new places every day. However, for those that don’t have time to read a lot of travel blogs, this is a great way to share about where you are visiting, where you have recently been, or where you are going and a fact about that place. This way, people have a way of learning about new places and destinations and interesting information about that place.

Are these clues not enough? Follow along on Facebook and Twitter to get more hints on Wednesday and Thursday!

  • Leave your guess on the blog only (no Facebook or Twitter guesses allowed) by Thursday, August 25 11:59 PM EST
  • Hints will be given on Twitter and my Facebook fan page throughout the day on Wednesday and Thursday
  • One guess per hint (with each hint, you can leave a new guess)
  • Winners will be announced on Friday with a brief profile of the winner on this post, shout outs on Twitter and Facebook, and a link to a recent post on Facebook!
  • Even if you don’t write about travel at all, join in the fun and tell us what you love about travel!

Congratulations to Ben Reed who correctly answered this week’s “Where in the world am I?” photo as the Sacramento Scottish Highlands Games & Festival in Sacramento (Woodland), California!

This week I made it easy and there is good reason for that too! So congrats to Eileen, Michael, Liz, and Jenna on answering correctly this week as well!

Sacramento Scottish Highlands Games & Festival – Woodland, CA – Haggis. Bagpipes. Kilts. Professional athletes. Highlands Games. California. Nothing says Scotland better than the Sacramento Scottish Highlands Games & Festival. I’ve had the chance to share my experiences and photos from the Sacramento Scottish Highlands Games & Festival. I’ve shared Part I and Part II of my day with Scottish Games professional athletes. Next year, I will be giving away tickets for those who want to join in on the fun. And coming Labor Day weekend is the 146th Annual Scottish Highland Games with the Caledonian Club of San Francisco.

For those who love Scottish culture, dancing, music, food, and games, these games and festivals are a great way to experience a taste of Scotland. And what better way to do it than joining other men in kilts! So join me in celebrating Scotland and stay tuned for Part III of my day with Scottish Games professional athletes.

Congrats to Ben and others and Liz and can’t wait to do this again next week!
